American Orchid Society Hosts Auction for Pediatric AIDS, Wine & Jazz at the American Orchid Society 2010, Live and Silent Auction to Benefit Orchid Mania South Florida.
What do orchids and Pediatric AIDS have in common? The answer is the dedicated volunteers who form OrchidMania South Florida. OrchidMania South Florida provides financial and moral support to grassroots AIDS prevention and relief organizations, including the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and they use their hobby of orchid growing to raise their funds.
The American Orchid Society is honored to help OrchidMania South Florida by holding an auction during their Thursday, February 18, 2010 Wine & Jazz 5:30pm - 7:30pm. The AOS holds four Wine & Jazz events each year, on the 3rd Thursday of Jan, Feb, March and April. It is a beautiful time to walk through the Botanical Garden with its orchids and greenhouse, located off Jog Road, next to Morikami Museum. Monies will be raised through live and silent auction from beautiful orchid arrangements, orchid art, handmade orchid jewelry and other items.

From the South on I-95:Take I-95 north to Yamato Road in Boca Raton–exit onto westbound Yamato (exit 48B) and travel 4 miles to Jog Road. Turn north (right) onto Jog Road and proceed approximately 3 miles to main American Orchid Society entrance road (on the west side of the street), follow winding road to the stop sign. Take a right at the stop sign and drive into the American Orchid Society entrance and parking lot.
From the South on Florida’s Turnpike: Take the Turnpike north to Delray Beach exit at Atlantic Ave.(exit 81) and head east approximately 2 miles to Jog Road. Turn south (right) onto Jog Road. Proceed approximately 1-3/4 miles to main American Orchid Society entrance road (on the west side of the street), follow winding road to the stop sign. Take a right at the stop sign and drive into the American Orchid Society entrance and parking lot.

May 23 - 24 OrchidMania South Florida will be hosting its 11th Annual Orchids in the Park fundraiser to benefit the Pediatric AIDS program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24 from 10:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. at Dante Fascell Park in South Miami 8600 SW 57th Ave (Red Road) You’ll find great plants, great prices and help a great cause. Visa/Mastercard, cash and checks w/proper identification will be accepted.
