January 2010:
Boca Raton Orchid Society donates $2,200.00 to OrchidMania South Florida. The Boca Raton Orchid Society, at their monthly meeting last night, asked their members in attendance to make a donation to OrchidMania South Florida, to help the children of Project Cradle, the Pediatric AIDS program at the University of Miami Leonard Miller School of Medicine. The response to the request was astounding and $1,100.00 were collected, which was then matched by an $1,100.00 donation that the Board of Directors approved, for a grand total of $2,200.00. There are no words that can accurately convey my feelings of gratitude to the board and members of the Boca Raton Orchid Society, for helping us in our quest to provide for these children. I will be forever in your debt, Alexander Lamazares – President.
